Dance Elite Dance Club news

This Sunday, September 26th, marked the 96th Mini-Match, and proved a fun and exciting competition for all! Congratulations to Dance Elite Dance Club student, Margo Shannon, for winning Top Student! And congratulations to all the professional competitors from DEDC – Jason Rivera, Shannon Lyvers, Jeni Mochocki, Sean Mochocki, Markus Thiesen, and Eden Erickson. Special thanks to Richard Thoele for hosting such a wonderful event and all staff involved for helping the day run smoothly. Also, great appreciation to the judges Dmitry and Gabriella, and complitments to their stunning performances!

Big successes at the US Pro/Am Dance Championships TA Competition left students and their teachers smiling and prompted July 4th celebrations to begin early! With an outstanding amount of first place winners, Dance Elite Dance Club stole the show impressing the judges and crowds alike from the early morning Smooth Division on through to the sexy Rhythm and Latin Dance Division in the evening.

Dance Elite would like to proudly recognize our students astounding placements in Sunday’s competition:

• Margo Shannon won Top Student and Britney Vu won Top Junior Student of the entire competition
• Michael Hershey won Jr. Mr. Gentleman
• Dan Richardson won Division C Mr. Gentleman
• Tiffany Thompson won Lady Division A Miss Elegance
• Tiffany Thompson won Pre-Open Bronze Proficiency Winner
• 2nd Place Overall Mr. Gentleman Instructor won Sean Mochocki
• Special recogniton to Tara Thompson for her amazing West Coast Swing Solo

     We have a fun packed weekend coming up here at Dance Elite.  Have you had a stressful week?  Come shake off the blues at our Friday practice party at the Avondale location.  We will be shaking our tail-feathers from 8:30pm to 10:00pm on Friday, January 22 and we would love for you to have some fun with us. 

There is also a local ballroom competition called the River City Mini Match.  It will be held at the Dance Warehouse on Sunday, January 24 starting at 1pm.  We have 2 competitors that will be competing for the first time…Fay Dunham and Travis Betros.  They have been working very hard to prepare for their first event.

Another competitor that is relatively new to competing is Margo Shannon.  She has only done a few competitions and she is really developing her skills beautifully.

     As an additional note, 2 of our professional instructors from the Orange Park location will be competing in the Professional Division.  Amber Miller and Don Beckstrom have formed a new partnership and will be competing in the American Smooth dances of Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango.

     Dance Elite sends a big “Good Luck” to all of our competitors this weekend.  If you want to come watch, spectator tickets are available at the door for $30.  Come support our talented dancers!
