Dance Elite Dance Club news

Sunday, August 21st, Dance Elite Dance Club staff and students performed amazing solos, formations, and awards dances at the DanceJax Epi-Center. The festivities began at 2pm with an East Coast Swing awards dance, followed by solos performed by Ray Taber (with instructors Jeni Mochocki and Shannon Lyvers), Dan & Linda Richardson(Cha-Cha). Other solos were danced by students Kathy Murphy (Salsa,Country 2-step), Bob Murphy(Country 2-step), Natalie Tyre (Bolero), Michael Hershey (East Coast Swing), Gloria Azua (Cha-Cha), RJ Wizemann (East Coast Swing), Jose Malave (Bachata), Tara Thompson (Cha Cha), Chris Lynch (Rumba), and Ally Sellers (Waltz).

Students and instructors alike participated in the Team Formation dances, the fast-paced Peabody and the intense Paso Doble, dance of the bull-fighter, performing each beautifully. Students that participated in the Formation dances are as follows:

The age old tale of good and evil was brought to life last Friday at the August 12th Heroes and Villains Festival Party! Dance Elite Dance Club’s students and teachers animated all the most loved and hated characters, from Bonnie and Clyde (Dan and Linda Richardson), to Wonderwoman, and Batman’s The Joker (Jose Malave)! Sean and Jeni Mochocki, aka Lois Lane and Superman, performed a sexy Rumba Pro-Show for a cheering crowd, with surprise choreography that wowed the audience.

Tomorrow, Friday August 19th is one of the most exciting events planned for this years Festival, Dance Elite Dance Clubs infamous Night on the Town, Destination Unknown! Festival Sponsors and their teachers will be taking a limousine from the studio in Avondale to surprise destinations around Jacksonville. This is one night you DO NOT want to miss! Friday, June 29th marked the first party of our Festival season of 2011! With over 70 people attending, the Red Carpet Premiere Gala proved to be the biggest party so far this year! Hosted by Markus Thiesen, Team Captain for the Directors, this open-house party welcomed many new-comers, and allowed students to bring their family and friends to share in their passion for dance! Performing the Pro-Show as a James Bond Tango was Markus Thiesen and his dance partner Eden Erickson, with a surprise special appearance by Abe Catalan.

This coming Friday, August 5th is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Party. Hosted by Stephanie Ritner, Team Captain for the Producers, this covered dish party gives students and teachers alike a chance to dress up as their favorite Harry Potter character! Starting at 8pm, this party marks week 2 of Festival; with food, music, and fun this will be no ordinary party, as The Producers are said to have many tricks up their sleeves!

REMINDER: All Friday Parties during Festival are now SPONSORS ONLY parties, so if you still haven’t registered for your sponsorship, be sure to do so as soon as possible! This is one Festival season at Dance Elite Dance Club you don’t want to miss!!

This Saturday July 9th at Dance Elite Dance Club DJ Suavebeats will be spinning the latest in Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton! Open to the public, this Latin Night will begin at 7pm and go until 11pm. At 7pm to 8pm will be a Salsa/Bachata class, general dancing starts at 8pm. Cover charge is $8 at the door. Bring your friends and family!

Sunday, August 21st Dance Elite Dance Club will be performing a showcase event at the DanceJax Epicenter! Every Wednesday in July Mr. Rick Thoele is teaching group classes in Peabody (7pm) and Paso Doble (8pm). All Dance Elite Dance Club students are encouraged to attend and help make this show a success!
